Our name, The Unseen 10:18, is based on Job 10:18 when he asks God why he was born if only to suffer. There are countless stories and encounters where people of all ages have questioned why they are here and feel as if they are completely invisible; our mission is to show them that not only are they seen, but they are known, and they are are loved.
We are a volunteer based organization who provides not just financial resources to our ministry partners but hold business classes, provide betrayal trauma information, facilitate art classes and teach boundaries for victims of trafficking. We also want to create a hand up for the children so they are invested in their future.
The Unseen 10:18 was started to meet a need. Kathy and Tom Schrad saw this need as they travelled with Jeff and Karin Trotter to Nepal, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. The ministries in these countries work in the areas of human trafficking and prevention and rehabilitation. As they continued to reach out, they were able to partner in work in these countries involving many areas in human trafficking: overseeing and checking on projects, traveling to remote areas, spreading awareness of how traffickers operate, financing rescues and providing an education and a future to victims and those who would be trafficked. They worked to bring the hope and healing of Christ to the least of these and to those who were considered cursed. They were also involved in supporting The Village Global in Mexico. Through their travels, they discovered that the average age a child is rescued from sex trafficking is age 3 - 10 years old. There is also labor trafficking into the middle east and China where they are in a constant state of indebtedness to their new owner and work long hours in terrible working conditions, and there is bride trafficking into China because of the one child policy that was in effect years ago, it is modern day slavery. Kathy and Tom began this 501c3 in order to support these ministries as they work to not only stop slavery but also to support and continue the good work that the Holy Spirit is doing. We are a different type of 501c3 because we promote a hand up rather than a hand out. We send money, so local Gospel workers can buy what they need in their own country and promote a thriving economy. The central reason for this ministry is Christ, and we can be a part of the story of hope by getting involved.
The Unseen 10:18 not only raises money to bring resources for those who can't speak for themselves, but we also provide betrayal trauma training, boundaries and business classes and facilitate art classes for the children to express themselves in a healthy way and to heal. Nearly 100% of your donation goes to the ministries that are reaching the least of these in Cambodia, Mexico, Myanmar, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.
